Why Hubpages is Like Highschool Romance
53(The following is a joke. I realize that earning money requires patience.)
Highschool was a long time ago for me. This year will actually be the 10th year of actually living life, until Hubpages came along. I didn't know at first, but I guess that's how romance is, you just don't see the bad stuff coming until "BAM!", you're on the ground sucking your thumb.
I was looking for a way to make money (stop right there, this isn't that kind of story), when I came across Hubpages. Have you read the reviews for this place!? People find it amazing! So off I went, armed with visions of $1000 checks coming just for writing what little I know about random things. I'm not a greedy person, I had even resigned myself to thinking that I would make at most $50 a month, "not bad" I told myself. I started to write. This was the honeymoon phase, sure money would come slow, but you know, I was enjoying myself!
Look at all of those pageviews, wow! Little did I know then that they didn't mean a thing... It's the clicks you want... the clicks! I'm digressing.
-time passes-
I have now been at this for ~4 days. Not much I know, but enough to have made an honest effort to make my way in the Hubpages world. I've learned the tricks, I've seen a thing or two, but you know how much my 53 hubscore, and 11 hubs have made me? Guess. $20? Stupid question. $10? Psh, I wish! Nope, probably twenty hours of work has earned me $1.10. $1.10!!! That's 5.5 cents an hour! The homeless make more!
This, my friends, is why I relate Hubpages with highschool romance. Never since highschool love have I had to work so hard for so little! NEVER! But, just like highschool, I won't learn my leason. Nope, like the awkward boy I was then, I will soldier on.. even if it means just to be friends.

Well - if this is supposed to be tongue in cheek, you might want to work on your delivery. But if you are actually frustrated after only 4 days - this ain't for you. Unless you actively learn what to do and - do it - you will not make any money to speak of.
I made almost $30,000 from hubpages last year - but that was my third year. I will be writing a hub about it for the competition.
The homeless make more!!! Ha ha you're funny. Keep writing, some of these people are making big bucks(myself not included, yet).. but look at how many hubs I have written vs. other people...lol. Persistence is key. ;)
